Our latest addition is a baby colt, born March 25th during the night. We are excited that he is here and are enjoying him. His mother, Roxy, is getting a little impatient with us as they don't get much alone time. The morning he arrived the kids were so distracted that they almost missed the bus. We haven't named him yet as we are not used to thinking up boy names. The colt is from a Seattle Slew bred stallion that belongs to Grandpa Packer. Seattle Slew belongs to a very elite group of triple crown winners- winners of the Preakness, Belmont stakes and The Kentucky Derby in one year. His mother is working cow bred to greats such as Hobby Horse and Great Pine thus making him a descendant of King P234 and Three Bars. I am excited to start working with the colt even though it will be a while before I can.
